Planning Board extends Gore Road subdivision deadline

Planning Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026

Webster Planning Board extends deadline, continues hearing on eight-lot lake subdivision. The board voted unanimously to extend the decision deadline for the 70 Gore Road, or Spalding Way, subdivision to December 29, 2026, and continue the public hearing to October 26. Associate Michael Snow pressed for a narrower 20-foot road over the applicant's revised 24-foot design, citing "smart growth" guidance from the American Planning Association.

Abutters Johanna Lawrence and Kevin DeLardy, both of 82 Gore Road, warned the eight-lot project's shoreline easement could concentrate "eight docks along approximately 170 feet of shoreline" and set a precedent for the roughly 45 undeveloped acres nearby. DeLardy called the project's underlying density math, if applied townwide, "crazy." The board also voted to shift its regular meeting time to 6 p.m. starting January 2027.
