Oktoberfest panel locks in vendor, parking logistics
Other Committee · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Douglas Oktoberfest Committee locks in logistics for a record vendor turnout. Members said vendor interest reached roughly 147 requests, calling the event full and turning away additional applicants, including the town's CERT team, which sought trailer space. The committee reassigned volunteers to cover gaps at ax throwing and knocker ball, moving scouts identified as Nick, Will and Logan, and paired adult volunteer Robert "Bob Z" Zdorowski with Logan for two knocker-ball shifts.
Organizers confirmed a $300 donation toward the event's hot-food table and finalized a parade lineup of 15 registered children and 11 parents behind a "Larger Than Life Parade" banner. "It is what it is," one member said of the closed vendor list. The group also agreed to restrict the municipal building lot to vendor and entertainer parking and revive organized overflow parking at Soldiers Field.
