PETERSHAM -- Nine deeds were recorded in Petersham's portion of the Worcester County Registry between Sept. 4 and Oct. 3, but sale prices have posted for only two of them so far, leaving the month's full market picture incomplete until the registry's data catches up.

TOP SALES The $329,568 sale was the period's highest-priced recorded transaction, a property in Petersham that sold Sept. 23 from seller Stephanie E. Starr to buyers Freedom Mortgage Corp. and Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc. The only other sale with a posted price was 43 West St., which sold Sept. 15 for $20,000, with sellers Elaine A. Caron and Elaine Caron transferring to buyer Cornerstone Bank. The other seven recorded sales, at 70 New Salem Road, 43 Amidon Drive, 4 Camel Hump Road, 11 Common Street, 35 West St., 32 West St. and 70 Hardwick Road, do not yet have a price on file, so a complete ranking of the month's top sales is not yet possible.

NEIGHBORHOOD BREAKDOWN West Street saw the most activity of any street in the period, with three separate deeds recorded there: 43 West St. ($20,000), 35 West St. and 32 West St., the latter two with prices not yet available. No other street had more than one recorded sale. The remaining five transactions were spread across New Salem Road, Amidon Drive, Camel Hump Road, Common Street, Hardwick Road and an address recorded simply as Petersham with no street listed.

MARKET NOTES Bank or credit union names appear as a party in several of the month's deeds: Cornerstone Bank is listed as both a seller (43 Amidon Drive) and a buyer (43 West St.), Millbury National Bank appears as a seller at 32 West St., and GFA Federal Credit Union appears as a seller at 70 Hardwick Road. The Petersham sale with the $329,568 price also named Freedom Mortgage Corp. and Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc. as buyers. Separately, the 11 Common Street deed transferred the property from Toni Begman to Toni Begman as trustee, a same-name trust transfer.
