Mendon Council on Aging flags ADA gaps at senior center, eyes new building. A Center for Living and Working inspection found the North Avenue building's entry ramp, grab bars and stairwell fall short of full ADA compliance, member Phil Cieply told the board February 12, saying "the pitch is not proper, the turns are not proper" on the ramp. Co-Chair Peg Nogueira and Cieply presented a fiscal 2027 budget request $1,735 below this year's, including a new $2,000 building-maintenance line, while Director Amy Wilson Kent said "I really stress with staff that we should capture every phone call" in describing 3,760 calls logged last year.

Kent reported van ridership up 60 percent from 2024 to 2025 and the food pantry now serving about 50 households. The board also weighed adding a program manager position to cover Friday hours, without resolution.
