Finance Committee · Meeting of September 23, 2026
Auburn Finance Committee recommends $941,217 in Fall Town Meeting spending, funds snow deficit from free cash, stalls school audit petition. With only three of seven members present, Vice Chair Trevor Sansoucy, Stephen Consilvio and Andrew Sharr voted to cover a $188,411 FY2026 snow and ice deficit and endorsed an amended $86,976,902 FY27 budget, including $534,680 in bond interest for the town's $23 million fire station project. The panel also backed $550,000 toward a new Auburn High School turf field and $1.4 million for the Water Street culvert.
Resident Eric Richards pressed for a $75,000 audit of school student activity funds, citing "52 variance findings" totaling roughly $2.1 million; the committee deferred a vote after his petition arrived at the meeting with its second half missing.
