Select Board OKs Food Pantry License, Fee Waivers
Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Lunenburg Select Board clears license and fee waivers for food pantry's 30 School Street move. The board voted unanimously to let Town Manager Jennifer Warren-Dyment finalize a license agreement with Lunenburg Food Pantry president Nancy Beach and to waive building, wiring, plumbing, gas, sheet metal and technology fees, even as APDC Chair Anthony Scalabrini argued the trailer project should first face design review as a "temporary" structure. Resident John Bowen asked the board to refer bylaw Section 81-9 to the Bylaw Review Committee so fund transfers require the same two-thirds vote as appropriations, citing a September transfer that "passed at a majority vote threshold instead of two-thirds." The board also referred two zoning warrant articles to the Planning Board ahead of the November 17 special town meeting and accepted a donated boulder, engraving and landscaping for the town hall lawn.
Minutes from 2024 and 2025 meetings passed 3-0-2, with two members abstaining on sessions held before they joined the board.
