WESTBOROUGH — The Westborough Library Building Committee approved $705,569.93 in June vendor invoices and heard that nearly 86 percent of the project's construction contingency has been committed or is pending. Project team member Mike Williams reported $517,681.90 in approved change orders and $215,072 more under review, leaving just $114,133 in contingency if all pending items are approved. A July 13 schedule update from general contractor Seaver Construction projects substantial completion on September 24.

Committee member Bill said the tree near the church parking lot "has not been well taken care of during the construction," and Kate Caraccio said the library anticipates "a four-week closure" during its move, per guidance from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The committee scheduled an added meeting for August 4 to review new cost-impact items.
