Hubbardston Board of Health Appoints O'Donnell, DPW Director as Health Agents

HUBBARDSTON -- June 3, 2026, Hubbardston Board of Health appoints two health agents and schedules a June 27 metal recycling event. At its June 3 meeting, the board voted to appoint retiring member Judie O'Donnell as a health agent under MGL Chapter 111, Section 30, to serve as a backup MAVEN disease-reporting administrator, abstaining from her own vote, while Dianna Johnson and Dave Rogers voted in favor alongside Chair Gael Moncoeur. The board also unanimously appointed DPW Director Travis Brown as a health agent with the specific authority to investigate beaver-related flooding complaints and issue 10-day emergency removal permits under MGL Chapter 131, Section 80A, bypassing the need for board convening in time-sensitive field situations. Food Inspector Cathy Hansgate, attending as a special guest at her last such meeting with the full board, urged the board to fill its clerk vacancy, created when inspectional clerk Sadie resigned effective May 26, "as soon as possible," warning that the board "has never not had a clerk" in its modern history.
