Grafton library board votes to close early for Town Meeting

Grafton library trustees vote to close early for Town Meeting and start work on a new 10-year strategic plan. The board unanimously approved shutting the library at 6:30 p.m. on May 11 so four affected staff members can attend Town Meeting, and signed off on warrants 40 through 44 totaling $33,243.77. Trustee Prabhu unveiled a draft roadmap targeting a plan completed before Thanksgiving to preserve state LSTA grant eligibility, with Library Director Katrina serving as project lead.

Trustees also weighed a $150,000 HVAC remediation estimate after paying contractor Renaud more than $50,000 this year for fixes trustee Doug said "never permanently fixed" the teen office's temperature problems. The meeting was outgoing trustee Roger's last before the May 19 election, in which incumbent Carrie and newcomer Stacy Herbert are running for two open seats.
