Library Board Approves Dec. 6 Holiday Hours
The Grafton Public Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to open the full library for the town's Grafton Celebrates the Holidays event.
Library · Meeting of October 28, 2026
GRAFTON — The Grafton Public Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to open the full library for the town's Grafton Celebrates the Holidays event. Trustees approved staffing the entire building, including the children's and teen rooms, with nine employees from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, at an estimated cost of $1,686, after Library Director Katrina said last year's scaled-back version drew "extreme negative feedback" for closing those rooms. The vote left unresolved who pays: trustees said the town previously stated in writing it would not fund the event, even though the union contract now requires time-and-a-half pay for the work.
Trustees also approved $44,040.28 in warrants and deferred a vote on the 2027 closure calendar pending guidance from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
