Auburn Conservation Commission continues Dunkin' drive-thru hearing to September 23. Vice Chair Ricky Arisme, presiding in Chair Michael Garland's absence, said he wasn't "confident enough to finalize" the 481 Washington Street project without Garland present, even after engineer Patrick Healy of Thompson Liston Associates answered the board's questions on stormwater and traffic. The site, a former gas station under a state cleanup order, would see impervious surface roughly double, offset by a new stormwater system capable of containing up to six inches of rainfall.
The applicant faces a roughly 90-day permitting deadline running into October and still needs sign-off from the Zoning Board of Appeals (September 17) and Planning Board (September 22). Separately, the commission said at least two environmental consultants approached to fix an ongoing erosion problem at 47 Rockland Road cited conflicts of interest, leaving a flooded neighboring property unresolved. Auburn DPW proposed reinstating a blanket order of conditions for routine road work.
