Auburn conservation board approves Southbridge Street and Bryn Mawr projects

Auburn Conservation Commission approves two site plans, holds DPW's permits hostage to a paper trail. The board unanimously accepted an amended plan for Mast Futures LLC's golf simulator at 615 Southbridge Street, requiring it be recorded at the Registry of Deeds, and issued a negative determination for a Bryn Mawr Avenue sidewalk and drainage project pending erosion controls. Town Manager Dory Vecchio told the board the impact of its decision to rescind DPW's blanket order of conditions "I can't say anything else but massive," after a contractor called Lynch skipped erosion controls on South and Church streets.
Chairman Michael Garland said the board wants a full list of DPW's planned projects, noting the town has flagged only six such projects to the commission since 2010. Hearings on a Dunkin' at 481 Washington Street and a drainage project on Hardscrabble Road were both continued to September 9.
