Westborough Council on Aging Launches Senior Resource Guide Project at March Meeting
WESTBOROUGH — March 9, 2026 — Westborough Council on Aging commits to senior resource guide and reviews 2023 needs assessment findings. At its March 9 meeting, the council approved minutes from December and January, heard that January transportation ridership dropped to 306 rides — down roughly 50 from prior months due to holiday and weather closures — and received a detailed review of the 2023 Senior Needs Assessment, which drew responses from more than 1,600 Westborough households and produced a 53-item implementation plan covering housing, transportation, caregiver support, facility improvements, programming, and outreach. Two council members volunteered to draft a comprehensive resource guide to every senior service in town, with a target presentation date of April 13. Staff also described a new intergenerational partnership with Post 22 at Bay State Commons, where a weekly Tuesday senior coffee hour will launch, and flagged ongoing discussions about potentially rebranding the senior center — possibly as an "active living senior center" — though no vote was taken on any rebranding language.
