Town to Repaint Parking Lines at Municipal Lots Starting Sunday
WINCHENDON — Winchendon Town Hall has hired a contractor to repaint parking lines at municipal parking lots beginning overnight Sunday, Sept. 20, with the work continuing into Monday night, Sept. 21, and remaining subject to weather delays.

The repainting project, announced through the town's News Flash system, will affect Town-owned lots on both nights as crews refresh faded parking lines. Officials asked drivers using those lots to expect temporary restrictions while the work is underway and noted the schedule could shift if weather does not cooperate.
Separately, the town's Finance Committee is looking to fill three vacant seats. The committee, which meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, is asking interested residents to submit a letter of interest to be considered for one of the open positions.

Beals Memorial Library hosts historian Kathy Morris on Monday, Sept. 21, for a talk on the history of the palm leaf hat industry in Worcester County, a look back at a trade that once anchored the local economy. The library also announced its Beals Prize for Poetry Award Night for Thursday, Sept. 24, recognizing local poetry submissions.
On the recreation side, the Central Mass Irish Festival is set to return to Winchendon on Saturday, Sept. 26, bringing the annual celebration of Irish culture back to town under Parks and Recreation's event calendar.
