Select Board Names Ryan Egan Town Administrator

Brookfield Select Board unanimously appoints Ryan Egan as the town's next town administrator. Meeting jointly with the Board of Assessors and the Town Administrator Search Committee on August 10, the board also formally appointed Emma Perez as municipal financial clerk, closing out a standing procedural gap. Chaffee and Clerk Beth L. Coughlin weighed Egan against two other finalists, with one member calling Egan's municipal experience the strongest of the three and another saying the choice "was not the easy choice for me." The board tasked Campbell with finishing reference checks and contract talks, with members specifying the contract must be prorated to end on the fiscal year's June 30 close, "like we did with" the town's previous administrator. The board later voted 3-0 by roll call to enter executive session under Open Meeting Law Exemption 2 over bargaining with non-union personnel.
