Finance Committee · Meeting of July 14, 2026

RUTLAND — The Rutland Finance Committee approved two reserve fund transfers to cover a dispatch wage deficit and an overdue AT&T bill. Vice Chair Ted Purcell moved both, which passed unanimously: $39,710.55 to close a CMRECC dispatch center payroll shortfall, and $13,403.91 to pay a roughly $37,000 AT&T invoice left over from an unfinished switch from Crocker Communications. The committee balked at a $298.30 interest charge on the AT&T bill, approving the transfer with "a strong recommendation" the town not pay it.

Member Thomas Ruchala asked whether the regional dispatch deal was "a really bad deal" for Rutland; a town finance official said it was not, noting an increased state 911 grant will cut Rutland's fiscal 2027 dispatch assessment by $64,043.79. The transfers leave the reserve fund with a $6,600 balance that will roll into free cash.
