Douglas Cemetery Commission Finalizes Logistics for June 14 Anniversary Tour
DOUGLAS — June 3, 2026 — Douglas Cemetery Commission sets June 14 walking tour as part of town's 250th anniversary. The three-member commission, comprising Lee Lyons, Betsy Youngsma-Jamman, and Sarah (Vice President and Secretary), finalized plans at its June 3 meeting for a ticketed tour of town cemeteries organized in four groups of 12, with 16 of 48 available Eventbrite tickets already claimed. A $10 suggested donation will be collected at the event and split between the commission and the local historical society. The police chief told the commission no paid traffic detail will be required as long as attendees use the soccer field parking lot. Program booklets were printed at no cost through a commission member's connection to Holy Cross's print shop. The commission also approved three sets of pending minutes and voted to hold its next regular meeting on July 23 at 11 a.m., with a roughly $7,000 Worcester County grant on hand for future cemetery maintenance work.
