SHREWSBURY — The Community Preservation Committee approved draft Town Meeting motion language for a tree-planting project. The wording limits the work to Dean Park and the Maple Avenue Recreation Area, and the vote saw two abstentions. Staff said Select Board floor changes removed "or available funds" from the article so the funding source cannot be changed from the floor.
The committee also approved a $272.80 Community Advocate bill for advertising public hearings and both sets of minutes. Skip Burnett of First Congregational Church sought an early read on refurbishing the steeple's three clock faces, whose mechanism is "104 years old." He had no cost estimate and the committee took no vote.
