Capital Planning Committee votes to recommend new member

Capital Planning · Meeting of March 29, 2026

Mendon's Capital Planning Committee voted 3-0 to recommend Andrew Nicholl, a retired telecom executive, for appointment to the panel, which currently holds only three of its five authorized seats. Chairman James Thach and member Phil Cieply first approved amended February minutes unanimously by voice vote, then joined member Jesse Curll by phone for the roll-call vote on Nicholl. Select Board member Michael Goddard, sitting in for Town Administrator Jeremy, said he saw "nothing glaring" requiring action at May's Annual Town Meeting.

The committee held a $45,000 Council on Aging deck project as-is, deferred a highway milling-head purchase pending a spring demonstration, and pushed a larger library and senior center facilities project, still awaiting a wetlands report from consultant Abacus, toward a Special Town Meeting warrant expected to open in September.
