Mendon Board of Health approves septic upgrade, keeps pressure on truck school over noise. The board voted 3-0 to approve a Title V local upgrade for a septic system replacement at 76 Oxbridge Road, based on a recommendation from reviewing engineer Tom Reiter and designed by engineer Rob Knapik. Health Administrator Jack McLellan presented fiscal 2027 trash rates showing a 4 percent overall increase, pushing the standard subscriber rate to $444 a year and the senior rate to $222, against roughly 1,286 standard and 610 senior subscribers.

Much of the meeting centered on continuing noise complaints against a truck-driving school near Route 16, with a neighbor asking "can you quiet the horns out?" and board members directing staff to pursue longer-term, data-logging noise studies through the state Department of Public Health rather than rely on single DEP readings.
