Select Board · Meeting of March 23, 2026
Hardwick's Select Board moved to draft an RFP for the vacant 179 Main Street building while pausing one for Ruggles Hill School over a deed dispute. A prospective buyer identified as Felix told the board he is weighing converting the Gilbertville building, empty for 12 years, into 10 to 14 apartments, saying "that's what our interest is." Members worried a Ruggles Hill RFP could trigger the same Mixter Trust reversion clause that cost the town $6,500 in legal fees on the Page Building. Separately, the board voted to raise the Cemetery Commission's revolving fund limit to $11,500, awarded a $25,500 mowing contract to Lori Crevier, appointed Frank Hansen to the Cemetery Commission, and signed the May 2 election warrant, which includes contested Board of Health and Select Board races.
