Auburn Select Board Appoints Erica Aker to Bay Path School Committee Seat
AUBURN — March 9, 2026 — Auburn Select Board appoints Erica Aker to fill a vacant Bay Path School Committee seat. The board voted unanimously Monday to appoint Aker — an Auburn Energy Committee alumna and Town Meeting member for Precinct 1 — over Donald Ericson, a former 17-year Bay Path School Committee member and decades-long instructor at the vocational school, citing her current family investment in the school, where two sons are freshmen and a daughter has been accepted for fall 2026. The board also unanimously approved two outdoor entertainment licenses and two corresponding fee waivers for Robert Goddard Centennial events at Auburn Fire Station on March 14 and Pakachoag Golf Course on March 16, waived all building permit fees for the new fire rescue headquarters to avoid paying interest on borrowed funds transferred to the town's own general fund, and voted to send the May 6 Annual Town Meeting warrant articles to town counsel for legal review. DPW Director Joanna Pacquin told the board that Chapter 90 road reconstruction covering Auburn Street, Church Street, South Street, Lancaster Street, and Old Milbury Road goes out to bid this month, and that the town's SeeClickFix pothole-reporting system launches internally the following day.
