Board of Selectmen · Meeting of March 26, 2026
Warren selectmen accepted a $155,737 state energy grant while clashing over a pricier Senior Center HVAC plan. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the Department of Energy Resources Green Communities grant for weatherization at Warren Community Elementary School, projected to save about $12,000 a year in utility costs. Selectman Derick R.
Veliz pushed back on a $280,000 to $300,000 Senior Center ductwork and mini-split proposal, asking "why would we spend $260,000 just to remain with the same design." Town Administrator Jim told the board the town lost certification of $314,000 in free cash after Highway Department Chapter 90 paperwork was filed too late for state reimbursement review. The board also raised a voluntary life insurance benefit to $8,000, approved a roughly $3,200 website accessibility contract with Civic Plus, and referred an updated Floodplain Zoning Bylaw to the Planning Board.
