North Brookfield's Board of Selectmen approved a plan to secure right-of-way permissions for the Madbrook Bridge project after MassDOT approved $1,875,000 in construction funding. Chair Jamie Gilman and Vice Chair Ralph Kay authorized Executive Assistant Mary Beth Kularski to work with Town Council on abutter notifications before the bridge goes out to bid, which Selectman Peter Orsi called "a first time for me." The board also approved a $3,254.77 reserve fund transfer for fire engine tires, signed off on roughly $11,000 in building project change orders, and accepted a Southbridge Police Department letter thanking North Brookfield Officers Brent Lavoie and John Francis for recovering a firearm tied to a shooting. The board accepted the resignation of water treatment operator Robert Peterson and a Conservation Commission and Parks and Recreation Committee member.
During public comment, resident Sean Blankenship raised unresolved harassment allegations involving several town employees that the board did not address on the record.
