Southborough Town Meeting approved a $71.08 million budget and the largest borrowing in town history. Voters at the April 11 session passed the $71,077,130 fiscal 2027 operating budget after separate votes on the economic development, police and benefits lines. They authorized borrowing for road and sidewalk work that Treasurer Brian Ballantyne said would peak in fiscal 2032, and a $1.4 million school security upgrade after an amendment to strike it failed.
The $8,833,964 Trottier Middle School roof borrowing passed, contingent on a debt exclusion vote. Industrial Park zoning with data center limits passed 90-32 after an amendment from Sam Stivers failed 50-73. A citizen petition for a second finance committee failed.
