Northborough Schools Seek $4.2 Million in FY27 Capital Spending at Town Meeting

Northborough schools bring $4.2 million in capital requests to spring Town Meeting. Superintendent Greg Martino, who leads the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough, presented the fiscal year 2027 capital program in a pre-recorded address aired April 7. The largest item is the Zeh Elementary School roof replacement, with a total project cost of $5.6 million; the Massachusetts School Building Authority will reimburse 48.68 percent, leaving the town a net cost of $3.8 million.

The K-8 package also includes $360,000 in security system upgrades covering cameras, access controls, and two-way communications, plus $75,500 in classroom technology. On the regional side, six Algonquin Regional High School capital projects total $477,000, with Northborough's 61.26 percent enrollment-based share producing a non-exempt assessment of $292,210, covering paver and ADA repairs, a new woodshop dust collector, classroom presentation systems, caulking work, and a replacement grounds tractor.
