Templeton Planning Board Approves Valley Blue Farm Event Pavilion and Special Permit

TEMPLETON — June 23, 2026 — Templeton Planning Board approves event pavilion at Valley Blue Farm on Verity Road. The board voted 4-0 at its June 23 meeting to approve both a site plan review and a special permit for a proposed outdoor seasonal event pavilion and 44-space parking area at Valley Blue Farm, 179 Verity Road, operated by Matthew and Kelly LeClerc under a major home occupation classification in an RA2 district. Engineer Justin LeClerc presented the plans, which include an ADA-accessible bituminous pathway, a flashing pedestrian crosswalk signal on Berry Road, and a 20-foot emergency vehicle access corridor alongside the pavilion. The board set operating hours at 8 a.m. to midnight — broader than the applicants' requested 3 to 10 p.m. window — after member Kirk argued that a narrow window would prevent future uses like morning events or late wedding receptions. Conditions require the owner to coordinate with the Board of Health on portable restroom facilities and with the Police Department on public safety signage. The Select Board is now expected to proceed with the LeClercs' pending liquor license application.
