Southbridge Subcommittee Approves Auditor, Lease, and Airport Appointment
Select Board · Meeting of January 7, 2026
Southbridge's General Government Subcommittee cleared five items Wednesday, including a long-overdue lease renewal and a three-year auditing contract. The subcommittee unanimously recommended that the full Town Council approve a one-year lease with Mill Street Realty, Inc., for storage space at 64 Mill Street used by Holiday Visions, a volunteer holiday-decorating group whose representative Denise told the board that "all the decorations you see out there belong to the town" after more than a decade passed without a signed agreement. The panel also approved retaining Rosselli, Clark and Associates as town auditor through fiscal year 2027 at roughly $49,000 per year, with the Town Manager noting that competing firms were unavailable due to a statewide auditor shortage.
Two salary account transfers totaling $12,406.80 corrected a data-entry error and funded a previously approved step increase for Senior Center Director Katie. A $243.56 prior-year invoice to New England Medical Billing Limited — the remaining balance on a $5,116.48 bill — was approved for payment from fiscal year 2026 funds, subject to a two-thirds vote at the full Town Council.
