Select Board · Meeting of October 27, 2026
BOLTON — The Bolton Select Board approved a one-time waiver allowing temporary lighting at Forbush Mill Field through November 8, 2026, to accommodate youth soccer displaced by high school construction. Bolton Youth Soccer representative Danielle Bradbury said the high school team's use of the field for the past two seasons has squeezed youth practices into shrinking daylight hours, with the waiver permitting lights until 7 p.m. on weeknights through November 7. Attorney Chris Tully, representing resident Jackie Foster, said Foster felt Parks and Recreation had been dismissive of neighbor concerns and gave no advance notice.
Resident Carol Jensen described unsafe parking, with "six cars" parked improperly near a brook on one evening, and said she witnessed children "playing in the dark" when lights were not used. The board voted 2-0 to approve the waiver, with members saying they do not expect to repeat the accommodation once high school construction concludes.
