Select Board · Meeting of October 27, 2026
CHARLTON — The Charlton Select Board dissolved the Senior Community Center Feasibility Committee and created a building committee to oversee the senior center and police station expansion design phase. The board voted unanimously to dissolve the feasibility committee by November 3, following funding approval at the October 19 special Town Meeting, and unanimously established a successor building committee with a proposed makeup of one select board member, one Council on Aging member, three residents at large and two residents over 60. In a 3-1 vote, the board approved an update to the Charlton Community Electricity Aggregation Plan recommended by consultant Good Energy, with one member dissenting "only because of the opt in opt out" structure.
The board also awarded a winter sand bid to Strategic Commercial Realty Inc. at $25.50 per ton and approved Treehouse Brewing Company's request to begin Sunday alcohol sales at 10 a.m. instead of noon.
