Southbridge EHS Subcommittee Approves Two Appointments, Accepts $2,305 in Donations

Select Board · Meeting of March 23, 2026

Southbridge's EHS Subcommittee recommended two committee appointments and accepted $2,305 in donations at its March 23 meeting. The subcommittee unanimously forwarded the town manager's appointments of Vladimir DeVille to the EHS Subcommittee through June 30, 2026, and Molly Blaze to the Trails Committee through June 30, 2028, to the full Town Council for final approval; both are pending state ethics training certification. Five donations — including $1,000 from the Italian American Club for the Senior Center's Red Sox trip and $1,000 from Harrington Hospital for community gardens — were accepted after a biodiversity grant the subcommittee had authorized staff to pursue "was not getting" funded, as the town manager put it.

The subcommittee also renewed a two-year inter-municipal veterans services agreement with Auburn, Charlton, and Oxford, under which Southbridge covers roughly 50 percent of the shared veterans services officer's salary. The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m., ten minutes after it was called to order.
