Shrewsbury Diversity Committee Elects New Chair, Vice Chair at March Meeting

SHREWSBURY — March 9, 2026 — Shrewsbury's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee restructured its leadership and advanced plans for three community events at its March 9 meeting. Members voted unanimously to install Flo Sang as the new committee chair after the previous chair stepped down from the role, and elected Louise Rodriguez as vice chair by the same 4-0 margin. The committee confirmed the Shrewsbury Public Library as the venue for a Juneteenth celebration on June 12 at 6:30 p.m., submitted June 27 as the target date for a Pride at the Park event pending Parks and Recreation Board approval in April, and announced that a public immigration forum is being planned for April with at least two confirmed speakers — an immigration attorney connected to State Senator Moore's office and a representative from U.S. Senator Markey's office. Town Manager Kevin Miscoe told the committee the same day that he would respond within two weeks on how to proceed with a drafted welcoming communities statement.
