Select Board · Meeting of May 11, 2026
Templeton's Select Board voted 4-0 to sell four town-owned parcels and used its last meeting before the May 18 override election to clarify ballot language for voters. The board approved selling the foreclosed property at 512 Baldwinville Road and three vacant 6th Street lots, with Robert May, Candace Graves, Timothy Toth and Chair Jeffrey Bennett all voting yes. Town Administrator James Ryan explained that Question 1A seeks up to $2 million and Question 1B up to $4 million in additional taxes for fiscal 2027, but said "it doesn't mean we have to spend it all." Member Candace Graves warned the tax breakdown could get "lost in translation" for voters.
Separately, the board tabled how to spend $58,000 in remaining Green Communities grant funds, weighing elementary school lighting repairs against town hall window replacement, and asked staff to research prior spending before the next meeting.
