BOLTON — The Bolton Select Board trimmed its draft FY27 goals from 11 items to seven, pushing AI adoption, police accreditation and budget forecasting onto the town administrator's plate instead. Chair Kate Buyuk, Brian Boyle and Bill Nickles kept economic development, school district relations, master plan tracking, the Town Hall/Houghton Building recommendation, a "Keep the Lights On" solar go/no-go decision, elderly services planning and intergenerational programming as direct board goals. Nickles said he wants a decision on the solar project "this year" given its tight timeline.
The board also revisited revenue sharing with the Nashoba Regional School District, noting 75 percent of new town revenue growth went to the school last year, and set a target range of 60 to 70 percent going forward. Buyuk pushed back on dropping a citizen's academy proposal but Nickles argued Bolton lacks Brewster-scale staff capacity to run one. The board voted unanimously to adjourn at 8:01 p.m., with a finalized goals document due for a vote August 13.
