Clinton Select Board endorsed a regional reservoir coalition's goals and approved a $13,500 study on reusing the Strand building. Vice Chair William F. Connolly Jr. detailed the town's 1896 deal giving it 800 million gallons of free Wachusett Reservoir water annually, warning the arrangement depends on a $500,000 yearly legislative appropriation that once nearly unraveled in a lawsuit exceeding $6.5 million.
Member Julie K. Perusse said the watershed coalition "seems like it's moving a little too fast for me," while Town Administrator Karyn Clark said she would make "no decisions" without board approval. The board also continued a National Grid easement request for EV chargers on Church Street to its next meeting and heard that the town is working with auditors and consultant CLA to match roughly $1 million in unused ARPA funds against already-paid contracts, including a $100,000 Tyler Technologies payment, ahead of a final report due in late April.
