Sturbridge Select Board hires town planner, three firefighters in one sitting. Members unanimously appointed Aiden Adams as town planner at $95,000 annually, effective July 23, succeeding longtime Town Planner Jean, after a search Robin said drew "stellar" references. The board also unanimously appointed David Tetrault and Kenneth Mazzaro as part-time firefighters and Drew Wright as an on-call firefighter, all effective July 7, and accepted a $500 donation from resident John McCabe, who wrote that a quick ambulance transport left his wife with "no heart damage" after a heart attack.
Members approved a liquor license transfer for Uno Pizzeria Grill at 120 Charlton Road tied to a corporate restructuring, extended a Plimpton property conservation contract to September 30, and filled three volunteer committee seats, appointing Jason Knott to the Historical Commission, Michael Jones to the Special Events Committee, and reappointing Richard Paradise to the Trails Committee.
