Select Board · Meeting of July 27, 2026

Hardwick Select Board requires two signatures on every town warrant. The board voted unanimously to enforce its long-ignored 2017 policy after Vice Chair William Tinker argued "all three members of this select board are responsible for the expenditures of the town," while Clerk Zachary Spencer pushed for a single designated signer after email review instead. The board also cut early in-person voting hours for the Sept. 1 state primary to eight, after the town clerk noted just seven in-person voters turned out in 2024.

Police Chief Kevin Landeen reported 11 car break-ins and a recovered stolen vehicle in Wheelwright on July 18, part of a multi-town spree, telling residents, "if you're locking your doors, they are not stopping." Tinker recused himself as the board voted 2-0 to hire his daughter, Sinead Tinker, as a van driver at $18 an hour.
