Rutland Planning Board Authorizes $4,000 to Complete Long-Delayed Master Plan

Rutland Planning Board votes 3-0 to pay up to $4,000 to complete the town's stalled master plan. The board, chaired by Vice Chair Timothy Nahrwold in the absence of Chair Norman Anderson, authorized the payment from a $63,000 revolving fund at its July 28 meeting, directing the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission to extract and incorporate required open-space sections that state law demands before the plan can be formally adopted. Janet Harris, CMRPC Executive Director, attended to confirm the cost estimate of "$3,000 to $4,000" and said consultant Gabe would invoice through Town Accountant Kate.

The board also voted 3-0 to endorse a Form A approval-not-required lot division on Ridge Road and Princeton Road. In a subdivision status report, Nahrwold flagged an excavator traveling under its own power on public roads near Brintnell Road and semi-trucks running a stop sign, saying he had already called police and would escalate to Police Chief Nick and Town Planner Chris.
