Westborough's Planning Board approved two sign permits and continued a subdivision hearing as a notice error clouded a downtown rezoning. Assistant Town Planner Kristen told the board the Attorney General flagged an administrative error in the posting for Zoning Article 31, the downtown business district amendment Town Meeting approved in the spring, which could push a fix to spring 2027. The board voted 5-0 to accept findings and approve pylon-sign special permits at 218-220 Turnpike Road and 159-161 Milk Street, and unanimously found a 171 Milk Street/222 Turnpike Road apartment project's shift from 297 to 309 bedrooms, within its unchanged 206 units, to be a minor change.
Residents Julie Squires and Kevin Barry pressed the board for an update on a long-delayed Kimley-Horn downtown report, with Barry saying, "Transparency and communication, bottom line." The 228 Ruggles Street subdivision and 5 Technology Drive site plan were continued to September 1.
