Planning Board · Meeting of February 19, 2026

BARRE — The Barre Planning Board continued a hearing on a three-lot subdivision off Walwanet Road to April 1. Attorney Tom Reedy, representing applicant Rotokawa Estates LLC, said the filing is meant to "freeze the zoning in effect at the time of the filing of that preliminary plan" under state law, ahead of a possible battery energy storage facility on the site. The board sent a $3,900 check to Graves Engineering for a peer review, expected to take two and a half to three weeks.

Board of Health septic testing remains incomplete. Reedy called the filing "a farce" and "a sham plan" in terms of its stated three-lot purpose. One resident said during public comment, "It's our property values that go to hell." The matter returns April 1 at 7 p.m.
