Select Board · Meeting of April 2, 2026

PAXTON — The Paxton Select Board voted unanimously to put a $640,000 override and a DPW debt exclusion on the town election ballot. Select Board member Julia N. Pingitore said the Finance Committee had hoped for a lower figure but could not get it after the School Committee failed to approve a revised budget. "I think the entire finance committee wished that number were lower," Pingitore said.

The town administrator, identified only as Robert, said the override language reads: "shall the town of Paxton be allowed to assess an additional $640,000?" A second question seeks a debt exclusion of roughly $350,000 for an F-150 truck, a roadside mower and a catch basin truck for the DPW. Select Board member Peter Bogren praised DPW Director Travis for finding deals, calling his work "nothing short of miraculous." The board also noted a $12,441.09 state firefighter safety equipment grant.
