Oakham Select Board Appoints Interim Town Clerk, Promotes Highway Worker
OAKHAM — April 6, 2026 — Oakham Select Board fills town clerk vacancy on interim basis and moves to shore up Highway Department staffing. The board voted unanimously Monday to appoint Lynn Kelly as interim town clerk through June 30, 2026, at $35 per hour for five to 10 hours per week, with Kelly — currently a full-time clerk in another town — committing to Monday evenings, Friday afternoons, and occasional Saturdays. The board also unanimously accepted the resignation of Highway Department employee Harold Black, effective April 16, and promoted Mike Granger from laborer truck driver to equipment operator at $28.28 per hour, effective April 20. Lucy Testo and Lucille DeLeo were appointed to the Board of Registrars, bringing that panel to four of a possible five members. After returning from executive session, the board voted unanimously to continue investigating police regionalization with the town of Barre.
