Oakham Conservation Commission votes down peer review, closes Robinson Road hearing. Members voted 1-3 against requiring an outside peer review of applicant Cara Peck's Robinson Road stream-crossing project, then voted unanimously to close the public hearing, with an order of conditions to be signed at the commission's August 4 meeting. One member said "I just think there are areas of this project that are beyond our expertise," while Peck said "I have done my due diligence to hire a professional to design the plan." Separately, members approved spending $1,500 from the town's $4,082 wetlands fund to pay consultant Scott Horsley ahead of a hearing Thursday, and discussed adopting MACC-model rules, subject to town counsel review, for when applicants must fund outside peer review.
