Select Board · Meeting of September 21, 2026

Oakham Select Board sets October 26 special town meeting with a $550,000 override on the warrant. The board unanimously approved five articles for the warrant, including stabilization-fund transfers to cover prior-year bills to Unibank ($650) and National Grid ($626 and $1,178.21), a $1,731 fix for a dispatch-budget shortfall, and roughly $2,319 to cover an unreimbursed fiscal year 2025 emergency-management grant. A board member, identified only as Fred, had a letter read into the record clarifying he "did not intend to suggest that Rutland routinely takes 30 minutes or longer" to respond to Oakham ambulance calls, citing an 80.6 percent response rate and 8.2-minute average response time.

Resident Matthew Broderick updated the board on the town's battery-storage case before the state Energy Facilities Siting Board, with hearings opening October 22. The board closed by voting 3-0 by roll call to enter executive session over bargaining or litigation strategy.
