Millbury Unveils Senior Digital Literacy Program With GetSetUp
DATELINE — MILLBURY Millbury rolled out a new digital literacy program for seniors this week and put out a call for volunteers to fill an open seat on the Conservation Commission, according to the town's News Flash feed.
TOWN HALL The town announced a new partnership with GetSetUp, an online platform that lets residents learn technology skills live and on-demand alongside other older adults, according to a News Flash post on the town's website. The program is aimed at helping seniors build confidence with smartphones, computers and other everyday tech.
Separately, the Conservation Commission is looking to fill a vacancy on its board. The commission oversees protection of the town's wetlands, lakes, ponds and streams, and officials are encouraging interested residents to step forward, per the town's announcement.
SCHOOLS Millbury Public Schools sent a reminder to families of the incoming Class of 2032 that the school year begins in one month, on Wednesday, September 2, according to a district message posted to the schools' website ahead of the new year.
COMMUNITY & ARTS Millbury Public Schools also spotlighted "History Comes Alive at the Asa Waters Mansion," a new program the mansion is launching in celebration of its 200th anniversary and in conjunction with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
