Millbury Select Board gets a clean audit but leaves mailbox damage policy unchanged after a major snowstorm. Auditor Terenzio Vopicelli of Roselli Clark & Associates reported $8.4 million in combined reserves, an AA bond rating and a fiscal 2025 surplus of about $58,000, while warning that the town's OPEB liability, estimated at $52 million and only 2 percent funded, will keep growing. The deficit in unrestricted net position now tops $73.5 million.

Selectman Lazaro asked about AI-driven phishing scams targeting payroll changes. The board also weighed reimbursing residents for plow-damaged mailboxes, noting Auburn pays up to $40, Sutton $50 and Shrewsbury $60, but took no vote, leaving Millbury's no-reimbursement policy in place. The board also accepted two $1,000 donations, to police and fire, in memory of longtime resident Dorothy Kuxa.
