Millbury School Committee approves $27.9 million FY27 budget, awards roof bid $2.5 million under estimate. The board voted 5-0 to adopt a $27,877,659 school budget, a 4.09 percent increase, after Assistant Superintendent Richard Bedard said the district trimmed $412,000 rather than the roughly $1 million in cuts once feared. Members then voted 4-0 to award an $8,473,456 roof and HVAC contract at Millbury Jr./Sr.

High School to Colantonio, Inc. of Holliston, which project manager Mia Ayers said came in "$2.5 million below the ECC." The board also accepted a $1,260 gift from bankHometown, presented by Vice President Christine Lucier, and heard Superintendent Gregory Myers credit new School Resource Officer Piscitelli, saying he "jumped right in" after a monthslong SRO vacancy.
