Millbury Fills Farmers Market, Seeks Conservation Commission Volunteer

MILLBURY — The town's Farmers Market continued Thursday at the Asa Waters Mansion, offering local vendors and live entertainment, as Town Hall also moved to fill a vacancy on the Conservation Commission and rolled out a new digital-skills program for seniors.

TOWN HALL The Conservation Commission is looking to fill an open seat, the town said in a News Flash post, inviting residents interested in helping protect Millbury's wetlands, lakes, ponds and streams to apply. Separately, the town announced a new program called GetSetUp aimed at improving digital literacy among older adults, allowing seniors to learn live and on-demand alongside other older adults. And the Farmers Market at the Asa Waters Mansion continued Thursday, July 16, with local wares and live entertainment for residents looking to shop and socialize downtown.

SCHOOLS Millbury Public Schools posted a round of policy updates ahead of the 2026-27 school year, including a revised cell phone and earbud policy, new student parking guidelines, and an updated attendance policy. The district also told sixth-grade families that thanks to participation in this June's fundraiser, the cost of attending Nature's Classroom this fall will drop by $50 per student under the new pricing.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Millbury Public Library's Summer Reading Program runs through August 8 for all ages, with participants able to sign up, read to earn prizes, and attend special events that require separate registration. The library has also begun offering "Digital Navigators" on hand at certain times to help residents with smartphones, printing, and downloading e-books, with additional classes planned.

COMING UP The Cemetery Commission meets Monday, July 20. The Board of Assessors and the Dog Park Committee, the latter meeting by Zoom only, both meet Tuesday, July 21. The School Committee's Policy Subcommittee meets Thursday, July 23.
