Town Hall, Annex announce new hours of operation

RUTLAND — Town Hall and the Town Annex have moved to new hours of operation, the town announced this week, as the Rutland Free Public Library also began a reduced weekly schedule tied to budget restrictions.

TOWN HALL

The town posted a "New Hours Alert" flagging new hours of operation for Town Hall and the Town Annex; the announcement did not detail the specific new schedule. Separately, the town said repaving work has begun on several streets, though it did not name which roads are affected in the announcement posted to the town website.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Rutland Free Public Library confirmed its hours of operation changed starting July 1 because of budget restrictions. The library is now open Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays noon to 8 p.m., and Fridays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday hours remain 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., except the library closes on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The library remains closed Sundays and Mondays.

COMING UP

The town's Events Committee meets Friday, July 17. The Select Board holds a public hearing Monday, July 20, on a Class II auto dealer license for 206 Barre-Paxton Road, followed that same evening by a joint Events Committee/Select Board meeting and a regular Select Board meeting.
