Millbury conservation board ratifies order, delays two hearings

Millbury Conservation Commission ratifies enforcement order, continues two major hearings to April 1. Vice Chairman Jeffrey Raymond presided in Chairman Ronald Stead's absence. Commissioners unanimously ratified an enforcement order against the owner of 25 Ramshorn Road for unpermitted retaining-wall work near Ramshorn Pond.

A rebuild at 23 Ramshorn Road drew scrutiny after engineer Stephen Balcewicz said roughly 17 trees would be removed; neighbor Kathy Crewe said the private road already turns to "sheer ice" from hillside runoff. A 17-acre redevelopment of the former Buck Brothers mill at 100 Riverlin Street, presented by Brandon Faneuf, was continued after abutter Greg Gauthier raised a separate tree-buffer zoning violation. Former commissioner Mathew Ashmankas proposed a $1,427.50 trout-stocking plan for Brierly Pond and Ramshorn Brook, tabled pending research on passive-recreation rules.
